On Saturday me and Scott, Morgan and Darren, Chase and Natalie had a group date.
It was so much fun! We started the night by going to Wal-Mart and purchasing stuff to make for dinner. Each couple could only spend 10 dollars. Me and Scott were in charge of a side dish, Morgan and Darren were in charge of the main course and chase and Natalie were in charge of dessert and drinks.
This is the salad me and Scott made. We also bought jello and cool whip to put on top.

After dinner we went to the park and played Olympic games. We hula hooped, long-jumped, played water balloon volleyball, and all sorts of other games. It was so much fun!

Summer Class

This summer, I had to take one final class before my student teaching. The class was PE for elem teachers. We are required to take this class because Utah is one of four states that do not require a seperate teacher for PE. So, a lot of the times, the classroom teacher is also the PE teacher. It was a semester class crammed into 3 weeks. We had something due every single day. It kept me busy! As part of this class, we taught PE at Grandview Elem. We went to the elementary 4 different days for 3 hours and taught a 30 min lesson in small groups. While we weren't teaching we were observing and/or creating our next lesson plan. We also put together their Frield day! This was a lot of fun. The theme was Passport through America. Each station was a different state. My partner and I chose Idaho and did potato sack races and three legged races. The students really seemed to enjoy it!
I really enjoyed this class. When I was in elementary, PE was going into the gym and playing Crab Soccer, or Dodgeball for 30 min. I had fun in PE but now my perspective of PE is so different. There is an actual lesson format and a certain way to plan lessons. I learned so much in this class and some really fun ideas that I will be able to use.
Well, now this class is over and it is finally summer for me!

PRAXIS Exam

On April 25th I took a test called the PRAXIS exam. It is required to take before you can student teach. It tests your knowledge of Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts. Well, I took it the last week of Spring semester, so I didn't have much time to study because I was just worried about getting my teacher work sample and portfolio completed. I was certain that I would have to re-take the test but I figured I would just go and do my best and that it could just be my practice test. I would see what it was like, study some more, and then re-take it.
Well, today I found out that I passed the test! I honestly can't believe it and am so relieved I don't have to pay and take it again!

Thursday and Friday

On Thursday I went to the zoo with Scott's family. We had such a great time. Abby was so cute and seemed to have a fun time! After the zoo we all went to Chuck A Rama. Scott's dad loves buffets and I love salad and especially salad bars so it was delicious!


Later that day, Scott, Keri, and I went and picked up Dave, Keri's husband from the airport. On the way home we stopped at Marie Callendar's. I had gone in a couple days earlier to ask about when they would be carrying their limited time Strawberries and Cream Pie, they told me they were starting it the next day. So I go in, all excited to get this pie, and they don't have it. After, a bunch of people telling me conflicting information, a manager says that they will for sure have it tomorrow. I don't really like pie but this pie is different. It's amazing!

Since we didn't get the pie me and Scott decided to go to the new Zeppe's in Layton. My cousin had Zeppe's Itailan ice at her wedding reception and I loved it. I had been wanting to go to it in North Ogden since then. I am excited there is now a location in Layton!

Later that night, we went back to Scott's house and played more games with Keri and Dave. Scott had never played Chutes and Ladders so I bought it and we all played it. We also played Sorry and Chinesse Checkers. It was a lot of fun!
On Friday I went to Scott's and had a BBQ with his family. After the BBQ we went back to Marie Callendar's and they had the pie. Everyone who tried it loved it. This pie is so good!

Lagoon, Nephews, and Games

A few years ago, me and a friend talked about getting a season pass to Lagoon. We thought it would be a fun, random thing to do. We figured we could just go on nights that we didn't have anything else to do. Well, we didn't end up getting one but since then I have always thought it would be fun. On Saturday I mentioned to my mom that I wanted to get one. Later that day, my mom called me and told me that my brother's family was getting one that very day! So, I decided I would go with them and get one. Liz and Scott came with me and also got one! I think it is pretty funny but I am sure I will have some fun times there this summer with my buddies and my cute nephews!On Saturday night, Matt and Laurie and Jen and Chad and all the boys were over. I decided to make the cake that I had the night before at Nelson's. It was super delicious. I had a little bit of trouble frosting it because the frosting was too thick at first but after thinning in down it turned out pretty good! However, let's just say it tasted better than it looked! :)
The best part of the night was playing with my nephews. I absolutely love playing with them. They are all so different but all so much fun! I can be having the worst day but as soon as I see one of my nephews I instantly cheer up and just have tons of fun.
One day a couple weeks ago, Carson was at my house and I went up to him and said, "Guess what?"
He replied, "What?"
I said, "No, you have to guess!"
He said,"uhh... You love me?"
I laughed and said,"How'd you know?!?!"
Then, in kinda an annoyed voice Carson said, "Cause you allllways say that!"
It just made me laugh. It's true, I really am constantly telling them how much I love them and they probably get sick of it but oh well! :)

On Sunday, Scott's sister, Keri, and her daughter, Abby, flew in from California for a visit. While I was over there we played Phase 10.

This is my all time favorite game. Except for when I loose. Anyways, this night it was my favorite cause I won!!!
Tonight, Scott, Keri, Dean, and I went to Cafe Rio. It was delicious as always! After, we went back to Scott's house and played more games. First, we played Skip-Bo. Scott killed me and Keri. Then, we played Trouble and I WON!! :) After that we played two rounds of Yahtzee. I won the first and Keri won the second and added together Keri won! I really love playing games, pretty much any game, so it has been so much fun playing all of these the last couple of nights.

Happy Birthday Chase

On Friday I went to Nelson's to celebrate Chase's birthday! I had such a great time. Chase told me to come over and eat because Sherri (his mom aka my Favorite Aunt) was making authentic Mexican food. I was a little worried. Sherri is a great cook but some of that food doesn't exactly look good. However, it was so delicious! It was a soup with beans and meat and tomatillos. I really enjoyed it and would make it for dinner!
After dinner we played Killer Bunnies. Chase likes this game and we agreed to play since it was his birthday. I hadn't ever heard of it before but his family warned me it was a weird, slightly retarded game. Well, we played and it was very weird but I love games and was starting to enjoy it. But then the game ended and no one won. It was pointless. I like games and I like to win and the fact that no one won was ridiculous to me! But whatever, Chase enjoyed it!
After the game we ate cake, opened presents, and played the wii. Now, let me tell you about the cake. I don't really enjoy cake at all. Or donuts. Or pie. I like brownies and cookies. Well, this cake was so so so good. I went home and found the recipe in The Lion House cookbook. I will make this cake sometime! It was the best cake ever!

Girl's Day Out

Thursday was my first day off from school and work so Jessica and I decided to go to lunch. We went to Applebee's and ate some delicious food!
Well lunch ending up being an entire girl's day out. We went back to her house for a little bit to help her husband and some other guys who were working in the yard laying a sprinkler line. Then, we went to the gas station and got yummy tiger's blood Frazils for everyone. These are delicious! They are similar to a slurpee but more chuncky ice.
After that, we went and got a manicure and pedicure. We decided to try a new place and they did a good pedicure but I wasn't as pleased with the manicure. But, it was still very relaxing and fun to go with a friend! Pedicures are probably my favorite thing in the world!
It is so nice to be able to go and have fun and not have to stress about what homework is due the next day!
